Dealing with these illnesses requires great physical endurance, but also emotional strength. Sometimes, it's helpful to know you are not alone in dealing with these illnesses. Sound Healing Group
Sound healing is a holistic practice which involves the
use of sound vibration to create a soothing atmosphere
conducive to achieving deep states of relaxation, peace,
and mindful present moment awareness. Symptoms commonly
associated with stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic
pain can be significantly improved through this gentle,
blissful, rejuvenating practice.
The group will make use of Tibetan and crystal singing
bowls, bells, gongs, and other instruments, as well as
vocal toning. It is an improvisatory group in which
there is no necessity for previous musical expertise or
training. Participants will learn principles of
creating a soothing, healing atmosphere and will
alternate in roles of offering and receiving the gift of
healing sound.
Facilitator is Stephen Emerson, LCSW, a transpersonal
therapist in private practice with many years of
experience in the musical arts.
